Sophia Davis - Peeking into Python’s C API [EuroPython 2016] [22 July 2016 / 2016-07-22] [Bilbao, Euskadi, Spain] (https://ep2016.europython.eu//conference/talks/peeking-into-pythons-c-api) Ever wondered how Python works under the hood? One way to learn about Python-the-C-program is by exploring the C API for writing Python bindings to native C libraries. In this talk, we will walk through a simple example of making a C library callable from Python code and vice versa. Along the way, we will... Topics: Data Structures, CPython, EuroPython2016, Python

Solutions are presented for the conduction of beat through a semi-infinite gas medium having a uniform initial temperature and a constant boundary temperature. The coefficients of thermal conductivity and diffusivity are treated as variables, and the solutions are extended to the case of air at temperatures where oxygen dissociation occurs. These solutions are used together with shock-tube measurements to evaluate the integral of thermal conductivity for air as a function of temperature. Engineers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama have designed a knee brace to aid in the rehabilitation of medical patients. The device, called the Selectively Lockable Knee Brace, was designed for knee injury and stroke patients but may potentially serve in many more patient applications. Individuals with sports related injuries, spinal cord injuries and birth defects, such as spina bifida, may also benefit from the device. The Selectively Lockable Knee Brace is...
